AL Capone was a child from an Italian immigrant family who rose to infamy as the leader of the mafia in Chicago during the Prohibition era. At the height of his power, Capone’s crime syndicate was pulling in $100 million a year. Before being sent to Alcatraz Prison in 1934 for tax evasion, he headed the infamous crime syndicate.
