Ralph stands at the top of the mountain, breathless, as he watches the blood spill out of Piggy’s cracked skull. The blood soaks the crystal white sand below him and his eyes look helplessly out into the sky as his leg makes one last twitch. Ralph opens his mouth in disbelief and watches Piggy’s deceased body float away with the tide of the salty ocean water. Chanting from the paint covered boys is overheard by Ralph’s ears. Blood rushes to his cheeks as he slowly turns around, the world spinning as he does so. “How could you?” Ralph says as he gasps for air, “You will regret this! “Now boys, the smart decision would be to join me and my troop of hunters, if you know what’s good for ya”, Jack says as he spins his dagger in his hands. Samneric give each other a worried glance, then look at Ralphs bloodshot, emotionless eyes. They both scream, weary about their decision, “No! Why would we ever join you and your crowd of animals?” Jack gives out a long sinister laugh, and looks at the boys straight in the eyes. “Sorry boys, but you’re making me do this. The dagger glistens with blood as he pulls it out. At that instant, Ralph knew he had to run. He sprinted faster than he had ever ran before. In the distance, he could hear Sam screaming for his life. Ralph debates about whether or not to go back for him. Sam grunts and takes one last breath before the dagger covered in his brother’s blood is pierced into his own heart. His body lays as lifeless as his brother’s next to him.
