The world is an everlasting nightmare, filled with sorrow, death, and utter despair. Every day there is tragedy that awaits us on the news, from shootings to horrifying corruption. Death seems to be lurking everywhere and no one is safe. This was the case in the shooting of Alton Sterling, an innocent man who was brutally killed like a slaughter animal. On July 5th, 2016 a father and a beloved husband was horribly killed point-blank. Although horrible, Alton Sterling’s death has impacted the world in many crucial ways. It has opened up the world’s eyes to the cruel injustice that lingers amongst us. It has gotten people to dig deeper and ask new logical questions. The world is now aware of the abuse of power within in the police community and of the pure insanity that festers within our so called protectors. …show more content…

They weren’t interested in reasoning or logic; they were interested in bloodshed. This is why his death has so much shock value. He was restrained and completely defenseless, just imagine for a second being pinned to the concrete and having some wild animal use his force against you. It was absolutely terrifying, my heart shattered into a thousand pieces when I watched the videos. There were a million various ways the Officers at the scene could have handled the situation at hand. It should have been a last resort for them to pull out their guns. The fact that he was shot so many times was mind boggling. It was ridiculous for the officers involved to continue shooting at Sterling, it only takes one bullet to warn someone not two or three or even five. They[the officers] weren’t taking into consideration Sterling and his family. His poor son had to watch his father's death through media coverage. I try to put myself into Sterling’s shoes…being alone, scared, and
