The last communication we heard from Amelia was July 2nd at 8:45 pm was the last we heard from her when she was trying to land on Howland Island in the Mid Pacific. On July 19th, after spending $4 million and scouring 250,000 square miles they called off the most extensive sea search in history that was to find her. There are many speculations as to what exactly happened to Amelia. She was trying to land on Howland Island to refuel, but it was so foggy that her navigator couldn’t work, and they couldn’t see below them. There’s a few possibilities and some far reaching theories too, such as coconut crabs ate her body and scattered her bones of the island after she crashed. She could have flown around above the water till she ran out of fuel and crashed. Or she landed in Saipan but was executed by the Japanese. We will never truly know what happened to Amelia, but searches and evidence are still
