Amelia Earhart: The Flight to Infinity “There are many possible, explainable theories for what happened to Amelia, but the one that is most explainable and more provable is that she died as a castaway.” Amelia Earhart disappeared on July 2nd, 1937, she was going to be the first woman to attempt to fly all the way around the world. Amelia was on her flight around the world when her plane “magically” disappeared (“Amelia Earhart disappears.” History.com) There are many provable facts on how Amelia died as a castaway, the TIGHAR team found remains of what could have been Amelia’s, the found glass from a cosmetic jar, a women’s shoe, and bone fragments of what could have been from a human. The TIGHAR Team says she died as a castaway because of the “distressed radio calls”, that they received days after she went missing, and the plane has to have fuel and be running in order to be able to use the radio to make calls for help.
