Asia is the biggest continent of the world which is located in the eastern hemisphere. Asia is one of the most diverse continent of the world as well. It is diverse in all senses such as physically as well as culturally. This kind of diversity in Asia can be shown through the form of maps. The two maps chosen below have similarities and differences which show how bias few maps are in different ways. Map A on the left is the map made by Ronald Reagan. It shows the world according to him. This parody map shows the world as Ronald Reagan (US president 1980-1988) might have imagined it. Even as parody, it indicates an interesting duality: on the one hand, it presents a view of the world as it no longer is, the Cold War having ended; on the other hand, it illustrates a disparaging outlook on the rest of the world that some would argue persists in to this day in American culture and …show more content…
Political map of Asia is designed to show governmental boundaries of countries, states, and counties, the location of major cities, and they usually include significant bodies of water. Political map has many advantages as well as disadvantages. A political map does not show any topographic features. It instead focuses solely on the state and national boundaries of a place. They also include the locations of cities - both large and small, depending on the detail of the map. In my opinion, all the maps are biased. Each map cannot be 100 percent perfect as sometimes, the data is not correct or maybe sometimes, the visual analysis has some mistakes in it. For example, the made by Ronald Reagan is also very bias visually. The state of California has been shown as big as the rest of the U.S. This is because Ronald Reagan also belongs from California. The other map which is the political map of Asia is also biased visually. Few countries such as Indonesia is shown as big as India. Another example of this is that China is as big as Russia
