The services that the American Diabetes Association provides does not stop, with or when, a person is not able to pay for direct care. The association offers multiple ways to keep the community engaged by having multiple fundraisers, offering camp for kids with diabetes regardless of ability to pay, and having special group involvement as a support system. They both want to reduce the disease and the burden that diabetes has on all persons affected. Role of the public health nurse with selected vulnerable population The agency fits with the public health and the roles of the public health nursing in the agency providing care that is needed throughout the continuum of care. Just because someone is able to pay for what is needed with the health care does not necessarily mean that they do.
