The "American Dream" is something we hear throughout our years in grade school history classes. Although hearing this phrase or saying often do we really know the true meaning? Is the so-called "American Dream" some distant thought of someone 's lost viewpoint of reality? Or is the fabricated "American Dream" just a giant move distant from every one of us? The dream we have knowledge of is not at all a deception yet a certainty, all we have to do is work for it. Therefore, the prevailing thought on the “American Dream” is having the big house with a nice car and a beautiful family. During Biden 's visit, a student asked him if growing government aid and support have been contributing to the wider educational costs Biden was talking about. The VP 's answer was in the positive: Government interrupting in the aid of student’s college education has caused expanded tuition. The dream of retaining a home is affected by the government and its rules. Students nowadays receive a college degree causing them to become in debt because of student loans. The student loan debt affects the fantasy of having the misconception of the “American Dream” for example having wealth and perfect family. Biden stated that not owning a home or having a college degree doesn’t mean you failed the dream. Only when you give up working towards your dreams is when you really fail the “American Dream”. “Americans don’t understand the true meaning of American Dream” (Swink, 1) In conclusion, the “American Dream” is the pursuit of one’s goals and the pursuit of happiness. As VP Joe Biden said “Not owning a house or a college degree doesn’t mean you failed the dream". Hopefully, humanity will eventually understand that concept and know that America is the nation that with hard work and determination you can achieve your goals which is why individuals will travel miles to come
