The American Pit Bull Terrier is a type of dog. In my opinion, the best type of dog. They have a muscular build, which is normally what attracts people to them. Determination is their most seen trait. Everything they do, they do with pride and nothing less. They are some of the best companions and make great emotional support animals. Also, just like any other breed, Pit Bulls can develop temperament issues if mishandled, mistreated, used for dog fights, etc. Bad breeding is also something that happens to these amazing dogs. Backyard breeders are people who breed animals poorly for money or abuse. For years, Pit Bulls have been bred to be aggressive and fight. One myth of a Pit Bulls is their lock jaw. If you compare their skull to any other dog breed they all have the same characteristics. Additionally, a Pit Bull that is aggressive towards other dogs isn’t necessarily going to be aggressive towards humans. Human aggression and dog aggression are two different things that should not be mixed up. Pitbull’s are wonderful dogs to own and will be loyal till death do you part. When I first got my dog, my parents were hesitant of her. My mom told me the reason she was hesitant was because she was a Pit Bull and they’re can be aggressive dogs. Well, turns out both my mom and dad love her and the breed to pieces now. My Pit Bull changed their mind about the breed and that’s what I want to happen to every hesitant person out there. Even if she can change one mind, that’s a million bucks to me. In addition, A person is more likely to die from aspirin overdose than a Pit Bull attack. I will spread the word and protect the breed for the rest of my life. If more people would do research on the breed and learn more about them, maybe shelters wouldn’t be so full.
