Infomercial Reflection 1) The audience our product is trying to reach is people who believe in the ideals of American Renaissance and want to further their knowledge over it. The people who believe in the opinions of our movement will also connect to quotes our product says. When people feel very passionate about a topic they tend to want to find others who share those same ideas and passion. This is why people in the American Renaissance will look for quotes from authors who support their literary movement. For ethos we said how a technology company approved our product. This shows people they will not only have believe our company that it is great, they also now can believe another independent company says our product that it is great. Another way we show ethos is when we list all of the authors that are featured on the speaker. Since our audience is people who believe in the American renaissance, when they see the authors that the speaker supports those audience members will want to but the speaker. Also when we list authors it shows ethos because the fact that the authors are connected to the speaker and if the authors are well liked then the people will like the speaker by association. Our infomercial shows pathos first when we ask questions, like, do you believe in women’s rights and abolition. This connects to people of our audience so it also connects to their emotions because they can relate to this question. Another time that we use pathos is when set up and act out a scene. In this scene you see two colleagues having a conversation about the quotes that are coming out of the speaker. Although people might not have conversations with their colleagues, people can relate to having conversations about their ideas about abolition and women’s rights. The first thing is being so energetic because this will put a lot of energy into the product and people will think the product will bring that, but it is all us selling the product. Another time that the infomercial is not all the way true is when we set up the scene at the work place. It would not be completely true that if you would start playing quotes from the American renaissance literary movement that everyone would fall in love with the quotes. In most cases you would have to go looking for someone with those same ideals instead of everyone at your work having all the same opinions as you. The last thing that was manipulative is the fact that you can only get the mini if you call now. This makes it so people do not have as much time to think because they are put up against the clock. Since they have to make a decision within minutes to get the mini they do not have time to think about all of the positives and
