• The customs/rituals of the culture of the American West reflect historical values that still exist in the modern day. The customs/rituals of the American West are very important to the members and hold deep meanings. Members of the American West deeply value their customs/rituals for many reasons. Members of the American West deeply believe in the values of the American West. Members of the American West believe that these values deeply retain and preserve much of the Western identity of its members and culture. The values in the American West are deeply ingrained in its members and are passed down between generations. The values of the American West are one of the strongest points of identity in American Western culture. o For example, many members of American Western culture identify politically as libertarian, because this political party believes in minimal government interference. Another example of a value of the American West is family legacy since many ranching operations and land is passed down from generation to generation.
