Despite the fact that America was facing one of its worst condition in the progressive era, there are still many people who compare their daily lives based on what's happening nowadays. There are still people like me whom cry over the littlest thing possible in our daily lives, and often forget that we are the most advanced generation ever. We often tend to forget that it took years and years of hard work and sacrifice from our elders to give us the most comforting and stress free life ever and we’re still ungrateful about it. We often cry about how small our house is when people back then use to sleep on the ground, how less we’re getting paid even though people back then didn't get paid at all or how there was a voter fraud even though politicians back then were corrupt and . We often leave positivity in the shade and put negativity out in the spotlight for the word to see. …show more content…

There was something called Americanization movement and it was to take in people from a culture into the dominant culture. It was to teach them skills and basic english for communication. This act gave hope to the future immigrants and Ellis Island became so overcrowded and there were many urban problems. One of the problem was poor housing and unsanitary city. Problems were so bad that rents for houses hiked up. They literally had to fit more than one family into a small room and they didn't even had windows and bathrooms and with the help of the union, they came up with the solution of adding more windows and bathrooms for families. Things have evolved so much in 100 years that we have more rooms than families in a houses. As many people were moved to different states, we don’t have overcrowded cities
