The competitors plots on the strategy canvas and their the factors of value creation shows the floral industry is currently in a Red Ocean market space. The two extremes compete at almost the same levels of value creation with homogenous products and services.

Reconstructing Market Boundaries:

To formulate a Blue Ocean strategy proposal for Amy’s Flowers, five key competitive factors are identified and placed in the EERC grid to consider adjustments in order to move away from the competitiveness of red ocean and towards a more blue ocean uncontested market space.

By applying the five factors on the EERC grid this will create a path to blue ocean by firstly, looking across alternative industries to eliminate competition
