“Don’t drink the Kool-Aid,” a common phrase that comes from the infamous Jonestown deaths. It refers to a person or groups of people who believe things without questioning or examining for truth in the things they believe in, only going with the flow because of its popularity, or because they are peer pressured or persuaded into believing it. The people of Jonestown was led by a cult leader by the name of Jim Jones. He led them to drink grape flavored Kool-Aid that was mixed with potassium cyanide and other sedatives. The whole idea of the phrase is to not fall into anyone’s traps, do not believe in things without having thought about them yourself.
