This issue occurs when school facilities have no system to track and regulate their usage of resources therefore excess supplies of electricity, water and materials are used. When schools, which are large organizations, start to use their resources irresponsibly they begin to waste the economy's supplies as a whole. The data i have collected also shows the exceptional progress schools have undergone with the help of sustainable school programs, by reducing their numbers of resource usage sufficiently.

This is an issue due to the fact that, there are plenty of schools across Queensland and with each of them over using and producing materials and resources, this will not only bring down the education systems budget but the health of our already deteriorating environment. Australia's national education budget stands at around 40.44 billion dollars per year, this amount can be drastically reduced by introducing sustainability plans for schools and having both staff and students educated about following the plans. It is a great concern for the environment because if we continually damage it we will have no future.
