The Distance between Us In the book, Reyna the protagonist explains her story of her childhood spent between two countries and two parents. Reyna faced a lot of obstacles in her life, but she overcame these obstacles. She knew the key to success and to make her father proud of her was to work hard. One of the obstacles Reyna faced when she was 4 years old was her mother leaving her and her siblings in Mexico to help her husband (Reyna's father) to earn extra money to build the house. ‘’ Don’t go,mama.
