Health care. One of the many things people depend on to live a long life. Many people are born in a hospital, go to the doctors when we are feeling sick, and get treatment at the hospital. Because of modern medical care, we are able to live longer than our ancestors. With new medical technology and the discovery to finding a cure for diseases, nothing is coming in cheap. The cost of going to the doctor is one thing, but after the check-up, people would have to buy medicine or prescription if needed. With the cost of medical bills going up, people being about to afford health care or all the necessity that comes along is growing more questionable even more than ever. According to eHealth reports, Obamacare or Affordable Care Act, the average premium is three hundred ninety-three dollars without subsidies per individual. The lowest price plan for individuals being a hundred seventy-four dollars per month; While, the most expensive plan is around five hundred eighty-three dollars per month. What also matters is the age group because the younger the person is, the cheaper the cost is. The logic of younger people costing less which conclude they do not have as much health issue as older people is not really true because everyone is different. We cannot base on generalization because some kids may have different health conditions than other, likewise with older people. The individual cost for people who are ages between fifty-five and sixty-four price are about seven hundred dollars. Levey and Kyle Kim, editors at Los Angeles Times, shows there is a G.O.P proposed health care where there is a senate and house proposed plans. The first thing that is wrong is that there are two proposed plan. Looking through the article, the two plans were almost identical, but it is confusing on why they could not combine the two together. Anyways, the fallacy shown in the G.O.P plans is the misuse of authority fallacy. We look up to higher authorities to help us in some way by making some change in health care, but it could possibly backfire. Another fallacy is the AD hominem attack because we all rely on the President to get our points across, but due disappointing and poor decision our current president is making, many people can no longer trust what he says or does.
