As stated in the chapter 5, Sexual Assault And Rape, Carter states that, more than 95 percent of students who are sexually assaulted remain silent, as stated in the report funded by the U.S. Justice Department. The report further analysis that the State University of New York at New Paltz, revealed that an institution of that size, with about eight thousand students, would be expected to have more than 1700 female victims of rape or sexual assault during the 11 years of the study. Report further adds, however, only 6 students reported a sexual assault to the office in which only 3 cases resulted in a campus hearing. This report states that, of those sexual assaults that get reported, only one third are carried out against students. He states that, almost all of theses problems can be addressed through education, but the education of men should be a priority, as men continue to dominate. This book also talks about how teaching young women how to remain safe will never be a problem solver until we also educate our young men to avoid the attitudes and behaviors that leads to sexual assault and rape. Carter also states that the deeply fixed links between the incorrect interpretation of religious texts preaching that men are superior to women in the eyes of God, in which that is often used to justify the subjugation and abuse of women and
