The play, A Christmas Story, is narrated by Dennis Proulx, the protagonist’s older self. In the beginning, Ralphie, played by Mati Durkin, is seen with his family getting ready for school. As he is walking to school, he caught up with his friends, but encountered some bullies on the way as well. Then at school, he fantasizes that he supposedly save his teacher, in hopes that in return, his teacher would convince his parents to get him the “Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model air rifle with a compass in the stock and ‘this thing which tells time’” for Christmas.
