How people are raised and brought up shows how people will turn out and the person that they could be, experiences can shape someone to who they are as a person. The memories that a person has when they are younger can possibly have a much bigger impact on them then when they are older. Children tend to take things more to heart and more literal then somebody that is older and more mature Memories from A person’s childhood can stick with them for a long time and tendencies show that most people can remember a lot of big events or memories from they’re childhood. Animal abusers are 5 times more likely to abuse humans in real life.(3) If animals likely abuse their offspring and then they’re offspring usually show more abusive then non abused offspring then more than likely the offspring will tend to abuse they’re offspring. Monkeys that were abused when they were younger are proven to produce less serotonin levels. Low serotonin levels are associated with anxiety and depression with impulsive aggression (3). Analysis of the monkeys brain fluid revealed that those raised by abusive mothers had 10 to 20% less serotonin(3). Serotonin can be caused to change how a person thinks or acts sometimes and how abusive and aggressive that they could possibly be. Those that abused their offspring were shown to have the lowest serotonin levels compared to those who didn’t abuse offspring (3). Some experts might say that abusers have come from the place and people that they grew up with while other people might say that it comes due to heredity and your genes. If a man abuses his wife and kids it usually because he was born with violent tendencies (2). Some people may say its nature which refers to all the genes and heredity factors that influence who somebody is. But other people also take a belief that it could come from nurture which refers to all the environmental variable that impact who we are as a person. Experts go to say so far to suggest that intelligence is 80% inherited (1). Tabula rasa which means the mind begins as a blank slate and is transformed into anything you wants it to be (3). When an infant forms an attachment it is responding to the love and attention that was received (1). People who say all of our behaviors and characteristics are result of inheritance are known as nativists (2). Philosophers such as Plato and Descartes suggested that certain things are inborn or occur naturally (2). People aren’t just born with thoughts and emotions and know-how, they get thoughts and emotions as they grow up and mature. Behavior is just as much influenced by genetics or environment instead of by heredity. An expert’s basic assumption is at birth the human mind is a blank slate and gradually gets filled in (1). Some characteristics are
