Divergent is a dystopian society, which is developed into five groups or fractions. The five groups are Abnegation, Amity, Erudite, Candor , and Dauntless. At the age sixteen, the teens are allowed to decide the fraction they want, which will be the fraction for the rest of their lives. This book starts off with a girl named Beatrice or Tris as she goes by later on, who is living in the Abnegation or selflessness fraction. Once she completes the process or test, she's given the results of divergent. Which means that she has three different answers. When it's time for the ceremony for choosing the fractions , she decides to go to the Dauntless fraction. This leaves her abandoning her family like her brother Caleb did. When she gets into the fraction she realizes how tough it is with all the obstacles they endure. …show more content…

It's not too bad because she meets and becomes friends with some transfers named Christina, Will, and Al, who help her stay strong. She later becomes in love with the instructor named four and gets stabbed in the back by one of her friends Al. Who helped her get molested by one of her enemies. As time grows she becomes successful in the fraction. she starts to suspect that they have a secret plan to turn the dauntless against the Abnegation faction. Her suspicions are proven right when one night everyone starts to sleepwalk, except for her and four, since they’re divergent. However, they get caught and get a punishment, which results in her getting shot. With the help of dad, her brother Caleb, her mother, she’s able to get to the control system, and fix the computer to get everyone to stop sleepwalking. However, this book doesn’t end happily; it only ends with them leaving to help fix another
