In Gerard Jones' article "Violent Media is Good for Kids," Gerard reveals how he feels about violence in media. He thinks that if children have access to it, it could improve their development and suggests that violent media inspire children and help kids grow their character. Violent media could also help kids improve their faith and achieve confidence and charismatic personalities. Nowadays, with technology, it is nearly difficult for kids to escape a violent society. In my opinion, I do agree with Gerard Jones's argument that children require exposure to violent media because of their benefits, such as their emotional capacity, positive social interaction, and psychological or mental defense growth. However, the extreme exposure of children to violent media might not be the best since we’ve had a couple of shootings already, and they’re similar to what we see in video games and action movies. The author successfully uses several mechanisms to demonstrate how violent media will offer significant advantages to growing children. Jones mentions that the "Hulk" has helped him resolve some of his doubts. The fighting scenes portrayed by the "Hulk" character made kids develop an optimistic and more assertive personality towards challenging experiences they face. The author indicates action figures like the 'Hulk," helping them relate their experiences during troubled times. Another example is the Tarzan stories play an important role in children fearing to climb trees because of fears of creeping insects or the mockery of friends because it helps to create children's confidence in imitating Tarzan's behavior and
