Do you want to live forever? This can actually be the case in the future. In 2015, Joon Yun launched a $1.5 million research in order for scientists to “hack the code of life” in other words to expand lifespan up to 120 years. Many companies have donated and contributed millions to this fascinating research. According to Aubrey De Grey, “the future of humanity is entitled to the choice, what’s not fine is for us to make the choice on behalf of the future”, what he means is that if people want to contribute and make this lifespan possible it’s up to them to speak and take action within. As amazing as it sounds to have a lifespan, it also comes with effects to the future and can cause a bigger outcome. Joon Yun began this research because he …show more content…

De Grey brings up a good statement, “we have to decide whether to have a low birth rate or high death rate”, by means fixing aging can bring less generation to the future which will effect in no one dying. Death is the end of a chapter to person’s life and a new beginning chapter to a person’s life. Some people have to die in order for others to come and experience it. For example, there are jobs that strictly hire young aged people because depending on who/what the company is they want to stand by a certain criteria in order to attract vendors, customers, and etc. What will happen to all these jobs, can this cause our employment rate to go down or higher? “People working and living longer might make it more difficult for a new generation to get into labour force or find houses”, says Troyer. The new generation won’t be to have these chances like the older generation would. Children is very important to people. It will definitely impact how families are meant to be structured. What would happen to adoption and foster homes? Will these children get a chance to be part of a family? Society will start to look …show more content…

Finding a cure for ageing can either be the greatest discovery or it can the worst. It’s only a matter of trial and error and what if something goes wrong during the testings or calculations then what? The way a person views life will change differently. “Would knowing you had longer to live decrease your willingness to make the most of life?” The mentality of a person can be changed knowing they can live forever. They can start to value life less and not actually experience the beauty behind it. This can cause repercussions in individual psychology and even science itself. The way education would be taught about life not only in public schools but private schools primarily church schools. Our bodies will start to function and react differently to certain things.. New challenges will be faced on each individual’s life. This can cause a hatred case towards people deciding to live forever and the ones just being the norms and letting death happen which can be a pretty big movement to society and the government. The way our government is structured can differ in the future. Everything will take a slight turn if you agree with life extension technology. Don’t get me wrong but the way our future is headed is fascinating but it’s not just about an idea or an equation made, you have a lot in your hands in order to make something happen and aging is one those things that I believe it’s up to the
