An article was published by The New Yorker on December 22, 2008 by Dana Goodyear with the title “I heart Novels”. At the beginning of the article, an illustration created by Adrian Tomine is placed, and its caption reads, “In 2007, cell phone novels held four of the top five spots on the literary best-seller list.” This image is divided into two sections, one being the crowd of people reading, and another being the girl using the cell phone in the foreground. The focal point of this image is the girl using her phone who appears larger than the other people. The crowd includes both men and women, and they are from different age groups. Some people look too old and some are in their teenage years, and they also look like they belong to different profession/ different class of the society. One thing that is also noticeable is that, although they are all sitting together in a crowded place, they are not communicating with one another. Despite the fact, some of them are turning their heads around, they still have book in their hand. They are all calm and focused on their reading, which suggest that people still like reading the printed version of
