The main idea of the article is to examine Hamlet’s insanity during the build-up of the play. The article is speculating that Hamlet wasn't insane by purpose, but is projected through the surroundings which are affecting the actions Hamlet make. But William Shakespeare’s did not intent on Hamlet being seen that way. The author believes that there is no telling between sane or insane, that the only thing that the audience of the play would focus on are the deaths of the characters in Hamlet but not how Hamlet is as a person. Chambers created. The book was called “The Tragedy of Hamlet Prince of Denmark” which makes the article reliable because of the publication of it as a book. The author; E.K. Chambers was known as an English critic and a Shakespearean scholar, which tells the readers that E.K. Chambers was an expert on Shakespeare. The information was valid in some areas of the article but it was mostly about what is happening in the play which is a good supporting point for the author. My reaction to the critique was mostly of myself agreeing to how the article said that no one can define a person whether he or she is insane or not, because people think that the only thing that could define someone insane is by a doctor examining someone to have an unusual brain activity of some sort and indicates them as one but what would they know. If we ourselves cannot tell what is insane and sane, without someone to say so. I was also agreeing with the statement that we could relate to Hamlet and sometimes or most of the time we are Hamlet ourselves.
