This mystery of the internet will always stay unsolved, but in my opinion, I think that this mystical internet delivers a bad impact on one’s life in many prospects but it benefits us as well. Carr mentions about Bruce Friedman that how the internet has directly affected his brain and his daily activates. He further gives a statement said by Friedman “I now have almost totally lost the ability to read and absorb a longish article on the web or in print” and proceeds to explicate how the internet affected Friedman. When I was in India, I received very less access to the internet, and I loved reading books and enjoyed doing my homework as I had to manage things on my own. I could easily immerse myself into the books and find the answers. When I moved to America, I began to rely on the internet for everything I do, and now I can’t spend long hours studying or reading novels. I usually start drifting after reading two to three pages. Nowadays reading and interpreting has become a real struggle for me. I have regrets for not being able to concentrate on reading for long hours and for not understanding the articles or paragraphs clearly.
On the other hand, I also believe that we have been benefited from the internet too. Books are a real significant part of our lives and are involved at every step in our lifetime. Books are expensive and the knowledge in the book is always hard to get and is scarce.
