British colonialism yes indeed affected the indigenous people of Kenya and one of the major ways was through government. (Doc D) states that the “Kenyans had a way of government which was ran by the voice of the people or public opinion” and this is important because it doesn't let the people have a say in the goverment. The goverment is ran by the british tells The group leader what rules to enforce. Also The Kikuyu people, an indigenous tribe of Kenya, had a system of trade, bartering, and ownership, freedom (Doc E) but it was taken over by british indirect rule, kindof like a puppet affect, and the message from the government was passed from the top of the government branch, not what Kenyans were used too where there were little political
In the novel, ¨Of Mice and Men,¨ the author, John Steinbeck, develops complex characters which opens the story up for interpretation. Steinbeck uses both direct and indirect characterization, which forces the reader to infer important traits about each characters. An example of a character is Crooks, a colored man working on a ranch during the Great Depression. Being the only black man on the ranch, Crooks is often looked down on as a stable bunk, and is not respected as the other men are. Because of this, Crooks is perceived as powerless.
George from George Steinbeck’s “Of Mice and Men” made the right decision of killing Lennie in the story, while other might disagree. George shot Lennie in the back of the head to save him from the suffering and humiliation from a mad and revengeful Curley. George did this not out of hate, but out of the love of their friendship. “George raised the gun and his hand shook, and he dropped his hand to the ground again” (Steinbeck). George is struggling to come to terms that he is going to shoot his best friend.
“Of Mice and Men” Performance Task I think that it is a good thing that George Killed Lennie because Lennie had been killing people and animals. But I think that John Steinbeck wrote the book “Of Mice and Men” because he wanted to show us/the reader how bad it was then and compare it to how bad we thought/think it is now. If we the reader(s) compare then to now we would see how bad it used to be and we think that our lives are bad but really there not that bad.

Of Mice and Men was an excellent novel about two migrant workers traveling in Southern California, trying to make enough money to fulfill their dream of attaining their own plot of land. They have trouble accomplishing this goal when Lennie, the big and clueless on of the two, consistently makes mistakes, some of them being vital. The author, John Steinbeck, uses great techniques and literary devices that build up to the climax and resolution. Throughout the story, he describes how several characters all have/had dreams or goals, but none of them truly achieved those dreams. All of these literary devices, techniques, and the entire plot lead up to my thesis statement.
As Slim looked at Lennie’s body he said, “You hadda, George. I swear you hadda. Come on with me”. George looked stunned and shocked, but he mumbled, “No, I need to take care of his body. I can’t leave my best friend like this.”
Steinbeck’s attempt at not only decoding the lives of the farm people in the Great Depression, but decoding humanity and the sadness that comes with it. His attempt was a hands-down victory, and an attempt which will possibly be never overshadowed. The novella is about Lennie and George, two ranch hands scoping the side of the country, working, earning and moving on. However, even they have a dream.
Everyone goes back to the farm after the incident. Its hush-quiet like a mouse there. Because Curley's wife died, Curley is more furious than ever. He then breaks the ice. “Everyone out now!”
Paragraph 1 - Good Curley's wife is masking her insecurities by wearing makeup, this shows us a more sensitive and girlish side to her character therefore the reader would feel more sympathetic for her. This makes the reader emphasize with her because this act of hers is relatable in modern day times, because of social media girls now see themselves as not good enough so they wear makeup to hide their true selves which is exactly what Curley's wife is doing . When we first meet her in the second chapter she is described as having "full rouged lips... Heavily made up." By wearing makeup she is trying to prove to herself that she is a fully grown woman.
In addition to genetic influence, environmental factors plays a vital role in human activity decisions. Dennett brings up a certain profession that influences people’s actions: advertisement. People are constantly bombarded with imagery and representation that affects their thought process in simple places like the grocery store. When deciding what brand of spaghetti sauce to get, consumers deliberation includes memory of several things. What commercial is catchiest?
The two men traveled around for work during the Great Depression. George was Lennie’s caretaker during this time. Reading this novel in 2015, impacted me by making me think about my future. This novel impacted my life by showing me the difficulties that people went through.
