In this world that we live in, it involves: hate, love, peace, war, racism, discrimination, oppression, and many more amazing and terrible things. The point in life is to learn and grow, but it is also learning how to overcome oppression and implementing tactics to change you and others, to create a better world. As we do this in each of our own lives, we will be able to create a better and more wholesome environment. W.E.B. Du Bois came up with a really great tactic that could work and has worked in the past. His tactic was called the “talented tenth.” Based on history, this tactic basically said that the black people or the oppressed would put all money towards the “talented tenth” and the talented tenth were the people with the most power …show more content…

Nonviolence is simply not just running away you see. Nonviolence is basically dealing with the oppression and not confronting it or fighting it at all. Nonviolence can create true peace between the oppressor and the oppressed. Nonviolence is accepting reality, race, and the differences between each race. An example would be when we watched a clip from a movie about the people who were trying a nonviolent tactic for change, known as the “sit-ins.” They practiced being harassed verbally and physically so that they could really deal with it in real life so that this tactic could work. The “sit-ins” created a change and portrayed reality. It showed that the blacks wanted to be unified with the whites, it created a sense of unity and realization. Nonviolence is dealing with reality, dealing with the differences, and accepting the people and the situations. This should be used more in society because it will create unity, peace, and will get rid of tension within society. We need more unity and society for us to survive. The results of this is that both the oppressed and the oppressors will realize what they are doing and they will eventually realize that what they are doing is wrong. Everyone will realize that everybody needs to work together to be able to create a better, unified culture and future. Nonviolence can convince the people that there is a problem and there is a more mature, human-like way to deal with it rather than violence. Non-violence will educate both the oppressed and the oppressors that they must deal with change and differences, it will teach them how to be comfortable being uncomfortable. The past is behind us, we cannot change it, but the future we can change. If we want a better and bright future, we will use non-violence as a tactic to help change society into what it needs to be: unified. We need to start accepting the past and use the past to not repeat past mistakes or as the saying going “history repeating itself.” If we use non-violence by educating the world, it will turn life into reality. We are all human! We need to be able to learn how to work with one another no matter what color, background, or ethnicity they are. Yes non-violence also has its negative aspects about it; like it will also take time to create unity in society and education that is taught in the right way that would not offend anyone such as
