5. In the poem there are four stanzas, however the number of line in each stanza is different. In the first stanza, there are 13 line and 62 words and in the second stanza there are 16 lines and 67 words. In the third stanza there are 16 lines and 64 words, but in the last stanza it has 15 lines and 65 words. 6. This poem’s topic is about inner beauty and that appearance is not everything, this is shown through a woman who is going against all the norms and she is still very beautiful. But, what makes her beautiful is her confidence, if you think show your confidence, men won’t be able to get enough. More importantly, the poem is telling us that no matter how you look, what matters is skin deep and not only based on the outside. I chose this poem because not only does this poem touch on the topic of fitting into the society, but talk about equality, this poem has a very deep meaning that most women can relate to. Besides, at one point in most women’s lives, they did not feel confident in their body, either wanting lips like kylie Jenner, or wanting a body like Gigi Hadid. But, in this poem it shows that beauty it not on the surface, it is skin deep. This is portrayed by the woman in the poem being strong confident or not scared to be who she is and this results in empowering other women. Also, the fact that the poet wrote this poem through personal experience and this shows us how she feels. Furthermore, my favourite line in this poem is, “The fellows stand or /Fall down on their knees. /Then they swarm around me, /A hive of honey bees”.
