However, the thought of his father held him back from giving up. He was “his sole support” and aware that his father wouldn’t last long without him. This is a reversal of the typical father
This part of the memoir exemplifies the power of spirit and how it is a medicine for pain, wisdom, and mystery. Spirit is what got her by, and she learned that mostly from her grandma and her grandma’s stories, which she introduced at the beginning of the

In the second section of the book, “Unbroken”, the author talked a lot about the experiences of the crew that Louie was with when he joined the army. Louie ended up with Phil and several other men to form a crew with their plane, a B-24 model, which they named “Superman”. They were all great pals who went through thick and thin together, but they believed the chance of survival was slim. One day, they barely managed to get it back to home base on one mission when the enemy relentlessly attacked their plane. However, one crew member was beyond help and several more had injuries that rendered them unsuitable for battle, their plane was also unrepairable.
(Richard Wright 2). This quote shows that the father was very absent in the life of the child. And when he was home, he wasn’t kind to the family. The child needs to realize why the Dad is gone and that maybe it is for the best. He needs to persevere through this time because the Dad is not going to come back.

Meet my Jazz band. This is a picture of us in New Orleans my junior year during spring break to play Jazz. I decided upon this picture because this band has had such a profound impact on how I frame my future. My connection with music through the piano has been fostered ever since I could reach those shiny black and white collection of keys. Starting at the age of four, playing the classical music of Mozart and Bach was what my musical background was founded upon, with tangible medals and accomplishments as achievements.
This shows how his environment has changed him, and even when it came to his father's death, he didn't even shed a tear, he was just emotionally incapable, and he even was relieved that his father had
The character feels an almost bittersweet sensation here due to his father not being there for him in times when he needs him. It is a tragedy that even though he is relieved that his health is in satisfactory condition, his father is not because of his own choices of an unsatisfactory

When I ended my sophomore year, I felt as if I was on top of the world. My grades were top tier, I had a successful soccer season, and I had just been assigned the drum major position in my school’s marching band. However about halfway through the following summer, I was diagnosed with depression. Instead of trying to fight through my condition, I allowed myself to slink deeper and deeper into an abyss. I knew that in my tenure as drum major, I would need to have a stable mind in order to be effective and have a possible impact on the band
The father tells his son that if he were to die he would die too. The man’s son is what motivates the man to keep on living. The love
It has been shown that using certain appeals in writings, especially on subjects that already give an especially large emotional reaction, makes opinions sound reasonable and sensible. For example, on a subject such as amnesty for illegal immigrants, it is easy to see the emotional appeal that one could use to weave a sneaky opinion into their article. In the article “Amnesty? Let Us Be Vigilant and Charitable”, John Kavanaugh, who created the article in 2008, decides to use a large amount of emotional appeal in his article on the subject of Amnesty. In contrast, the article “Dream On”, by Mark Krikorian, written in 2010 arguably does the exact opposite of emotional appeal, logical appeal. It is clear of his word choice that he is opposed to bad amnesty laws in general.
An empire may be defined as the ruling of a defeated nation, by a conquering power , who exploits the population for the advancement of the empires mother land . This defeated population then becomes known as imperial subjects, who are depicted as distinctly different and exploitable. It may be said that empires, enrich themselves at the expense of others and are therefore driven by a system of mercantilism. Furthermore, it may be said that an empire, is a political order that rules over a significant population and is characterised by flexible borders . According to P J Marshall, the British Empire may be seen as a contradiction due to the fact that the empire restricted choices and created opportunities for the imperial subjects.
The reality of the situation was that she had no control over her father’s death. There was nothing or no way that she could have prevented the events that took place. Although she was extremely angry with the situation at hand she learned that she had other things to be grateful for. She wanted people to know that even though something or someone has passed away you can’t stay stuck in the state of depression forever. You have to step back and look at your life because the reality is, life still moves on.
