The book I read is called Long Shot, by Mike Lupica. This book is about a kid named Pedro Morales and his basketball team. He moved from Mexico to the United States (US) as a little kid. He loved to play basketball, but couldn’t decide whether to take full responsibility for the basketball team or his education to make his parents proud especially his dad. He was best friends with a character named Ned.

Fried introduces Gil’s backgrounds that he is a former police officer without any experiences in running a sports facility (2). Elsewhere, Fried demonstrates various industry analyses about sportaplex, for example, the definition of sportsplex is a facility offering multiple indoor and outdoor sports (2), and the “Sportsplex Operators and Developers Association (SODA)” propose some guidelines for implementing a sportsplex, such as “developing a needs assessment, feasibility study and preliminary design”(2). In addition, Fried cites CT sportsplex information, which includes the location, population, the charging fees, sponsorship packages, and the competing component research, as a frame example for Gil’s sportsplex (3-4).
The book Batboy by Mike Lupica is a very inspirational book. Is playing baseball something you just quit or can you improvise and drive to learn. Can you help a bestie out? Darryl the main character has been playing baseball for years and had to be a leader and help one of his teammates out, so he has to drive him to become the better player. Hutch played shortstop but Darryl 's best friend was the shortstop until Hutch came and he was upset he had to play centerfield and came the better player.

There are many life lessons to be learned from Foul Trouble. Although the main theme of the book is to live your life no matter how long it is. My first reason was that Danny works hard to get noticed.

Summer Heights High is an Australian TV mockumentary mini-series; created in 2007, focusing on the 3 main characters: Jonah, Mr G and Ja’mie, all three are played by the creator of the show, Chris Lilley. Each characters are depicted through the use of satirical elements, such: stereotypes, hyperbole, irony, juxtaposition and sarcasm. Chris Lilley, uses satirical devices to poke fun at the modern stereotypes of the education system to create comedy and show how these stereotypes are unnecessary as most of the time, they are incorrect. Jonah Takalua, a destructive and disobedient Tongan year 8 student, challenges the stereotypes of islanders behaviours and their attitudes with hyperbole and sarcasm. Michael wasn’t a born ready basketball player that everyone thought he was because of his success in the NBA. One of Michael’s coaches once said, “Jordan, interestingly, was not a “Natural” basketball player” (Johnson). The natural born talent Jordan had was playing baseball, so in order to become successful, he had to practice and work harder than others. One journalist stated,” Jordan’s high school basketball coach, Clifton Herring, picked up the young athlete each morning at 6:00 to practice the game before school” (Johnson). In contrast to not making the basketball team for his high school, Jordan worked hard everyday to get better and use the athleticism god had given him.
At the film's beginning, Jimmy is reluctant to play on the team because of his previous experiences with basketball. However, through his interactions with Coach Dale, he learns to trust his abilities and becomes integral to the team's success. Coach Dale also learns to trust his players and rely on their strengths, which leads to the team's success. On the negative side, there is a relationship between the town's former star player, Everett, and his father.
I read the book Night Hoops, by: Carl Deuker. This book is about a boy named Nick that is dealing with some problems that are more than just basketball. He meets a boy names Trent Dawson who he was not too fond of at first, Trent is going through a lot more than Nick is in his home life, so Nick takes Trent under his wing to help keep him out of trouble. But at first Trent seems to resist and says he doesn’t need help. He ends up running out every night with his brother to get into some trouble.
When it comes to comparing famous film and literary works, High Noon and “The Most Dangerous Game” are great subjects. They both have the component of suspense, hunter and the other being hunted. As you read on further you will understand the alikeness and the dissimilar attributes. Both High Noon and “The Most Dangerous Game” have similar plots and themes, but they have disparate moods.
No matter his size, he was always be the one putting in the most effort and work. All in all, in the book Travel Team, by Mike Lupica, Danny is an unstoppable kid who is in love with the game of basketball and nothing can stop him. No one can crush his dreams nor his confidence. Danny proved that just because of your size, doesn’t mean you can’t be the best. His dedication proves that he is willing to sacrifice anything, which many people should learn from.
