One of the biggest flaws of determinism is that it strips humans of their individualism and moral freedom. People aren’t who they are because of the choices they make, but the environments they’re from. This theory also discredits individual responsibility. A man who abuses his wife can simply claim he had no choice-- it’s due to his violent upbringing. Where does this end? Can a child beat up another kid on the playground and claim it’s due to the violent nature of the video games he plays? By giving individuals the power to assert that their actions are not their fault, but pre-determined is to take away the liability for their actions. Where does society go from there?
