The author describes how she and her friends buried a cat, and how depressed they felt the next day. Kenyon provides a clear description of the of the physical and emotional context surrounding the event. “Like primitives we buried the cat” (Kenyon), phrase that suggests that they were not even thinking in what was happening at the moment. I think it is typical reaction that most people have when we are going through a bad moment in our lives.
