“The rose that grew from the concrete” by Tupac Shakur means so much more than the title suggests. It explains that a rose grew from the concrete, and it worked so hard to get through, and nobody even cares about the rose. There is symbolism, personification, and mood. Symbolism is the use of symbols to represent ideas, or qualities. In this poem the symbolism is the rose that’s growing from the concrete means that you can do anything. It says “funny it seems but by keeping its dreams, it learned to breath fresh air.” This shows the symbolism and again shows that it is possible to do everything.
