The book titled "The Souls of Black Folk" published in 1903 is a set of essays written by the sociologist and civil rights activist W.E.B Du Bois.It represents a personal memoir of the writer himself, stories of other black people, in addition to a call for equal rights. Du Bois's book was addressed to the whites more than the blacks were for the reason that the blacks were already aware of their status and knew each other problems and suffering. They were familiar to what was mentioned in the book; because they were experiencing it in their daily life, contrary to the whites who did not have an idea about it, they did not know or let us say; did not want to bother themselves to see the truth. For instance, at that time, if the whites saw a white man mistreating a black, the majority of them will not react, try to help the black one; or try to stop the white man from what he is doing. They would simply look away like nothing is happening.in fact; some of them would even go further and help the white man by beating and insulting the black one .That entire attitude was a result of being raised with the idea of the white race supremacy and blacks as less valued. He took the power of words for his advantage to raise the awareness of the whites to the conditions the blacks were living in because of the division between the two races. He hoped to change the view of the whites who could contribute in shaping new policies and opinions toward blacks. These new policies and views shaped by the whites could put an end to racism and acknowledge the blacks as members of the American society alongside with the
