In this day and age there are so many television shows that present some sort of family form. In 2009, Modern Family was aired for the first time in American house televisions. This television show is about 3 very different families. The Pritchets, which is a blended family that consists of, husband Jay, wife Gloria and step son Manny. There is also Jay’s daughter Claire who has a nuclear family structure. Claire is married to her husband Phil and they have 3 children, “Luke”, the youngest and only son, “Alex the middle age girl, and “Haley the eldest girl. Mr. Pritchett also has an older son “Mitchell”, who has a partner, “Cameron”, and together they are raising an adopted girl named “Lilly”, in their not so traditional family structure. …show more content…

The show “Modern Family” is based on being extended family members of the Pritchets family. Jay who is the husband of Gloria and they have a son together named Manny. This is Jay’s second marriage to a much younger and beautiful wife. Jay has two other kids from his previous marriage. His daughter Claire who is married to Phil and they have three kids. Two daughters and their youngest is a boy. Their family is based on a being a nuclear family. Jay also has a son named Mitchell who is gay and lives with his partner Cameron and together they adopted a daughter and named her Lilly. The main characters of this TV show Modern Family would have to be Jay the remarried father and his two kids from his previous marriage Claire and Mitchell. Although everyone in this show plays a relatively equal part. The Pritchet family faces many challenges like any normal family would face in the real life. One of the challenges is the fact that Jay who is a newly remarried man to his wife who is a couple decades younger than him.
