Have you ever thought about your past or your future? Do you know that thinking about future or past build your personality? Today there are a lot of discusses among the readers and among the writers that argue about it. One of the writers - Philip Zimbardo, who is an American psychologist and professor emeritus at Stanford University and author of the book “The time paradox”, shares his experience and knowledge with the readers, and gives information that how belonging one of the time perspective affects person’s life, personality, behavior, and future life. Also he shares his ideas in his speech in the RSA lecture. Parents should understand that kids are different than them because time is not those times that they have lived. Today many Americans are so busy because of harder conditions of working and lifestyle. Thereby, they spend most of their time for working hard, instead of spending their time with their family. For instance, most of the Americans even do not have a dinner around table with family members. Therefore, today most of the parents cannot understand their children and their time perspective, and it makes several conflicts among family members. Taking everything into consideration, Philip Zimbardo’s lecture “The secret power of time”, his argument about sense of duration is efficiently organized. However, the lecture makes people confused because of unreliable information. People may research more about time perspectives from other resources to become aware of advantages and disadvantages of belonging one type of time perspective such as being future oriented, or if Zimbardo uses some other resources, it may help to make his speech
