He is proven guilty, but he gets to walk away a free man. Sarty knows this is wrong but it being his father, he wants to save him. This problem of having to decide on choosing the right or wrong side is what the story is based off of. The author uses point-of-view to help portray the story and to help give the audience a better understanding of what the meaning behind the story
He is also the antagonist because he is the child’s rescuer and his tormentor. He rescues the child but fails to realize that the child is still burning because his diaper is full of steaming water. In my opinion the story is good. It shows how parents care for their child, parents might slip up sometimes but it’s a part of parenting all you can do is learn from it and fix your mistakes. “That Settles That”
Bear VandiverMay 23, 2017English Masculinity Troy and Atticus both express true and false masculinity in the eye of Joe Ehrmann. They both are fathers of two and have substantial influences on the people they are close to. Troy, the protagonists in the play Fences, is a middle-aged man living with his family in Pittsburgh. One of Troy’s many flaws is having a stable relationship, which was one of Ehrmann’s subjects in his Ted Talk. Atticus was also a middle-aged man living in the 1930s, where he is a lawyer trying to defend a black man who goes by the name of Tom Robinson.
To summarize my post, I want to recommend this story to those who did not read it yet. Such a dialog between good and bad in us can take place in us, and the story reminds that and draws a picture of what one can become if turn
Nothing in life stays forever. Eventually, everything dies or goes away. Spring turns into winter. Happiness turns into sadness. Children will grow up and soon lose their innocence.
"But why did he do it?" That question, many of us ask in a lifetime to understand the meaning behind the actions of what a person has done. Mrs. Kittredge had to make an important decision that could have impacted two friends in the story, “Cover-ups”. Also, in “Good Guys Always Win” the character Good Guy also has a decision to make that could impact his life on how people could perceive in such a way that to him would be horrible. Who had the more difficult choice, is in a way hard to make a selection, along with trying to know if the person did make the right decision is also hard to understand.

The feminist theory is based on finding and exposing negative attitudes toward women in literature. Their goal is to reveal the reality of how women get portrayed in literature due to the fact that most literature presents an inaccurate view of women and are most of the time minimized. In the Catcher in the Rye there is a few female characters such as Sunny, the girls at the club, and Sally who are put in situations that show nothing but stereotypes and puts them in a bad spot throughout the novel. J.D Salinger decides to put some of the female characters in situations that can cause those who read this novel to think bad or leave readers with a bad image of women. Andrew Slawson Professor Morowitz HNRS 353 1 September 2014 American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis The 1991 novel American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis is a satirical story detailing the daily life and internal monologue of late-1980s New York City businessman and serial killer Patrick Bateman, a man devoid of empathy and obsessed with how he presents himself to others. Most of the novel is told in a stream-of-consciousness style from the unreliable point of view of the protagonist, and mistaken identity is a consistent theme throughout the novel. As a result, it becomes difficult to determine whether the events that take place are the delusions of Bateman’s psychotic mind or actual facets of reality.
From the brief passage from the story, you can see how many bad decisions are being made and how they are adding up, leading towards the tragic end. As can see from reading, the
Secondary socialization is a process that teaches people how to participate in society. Agents of socialization refer to the people, groups, and institutions that are the foundations of society. They are often highly influential in shaping our identity and view of the world. The two agencies of socialization that I have chosen to reflect on are media and religion. I will discuss how both topics have affected and influenced my beliefs, values, and role in society.
