As an author, Harper Lee is mostly known for her award winning novel To Kill a Mockingbird. This is because she has written about the racial tension in the sixties. Her courage and confidence allowed her to write about a topic that wasn’t talked about. Sadly, Harper Lee died two years ago at the age of 89. Her work has been read by many students for the past 58 years. Until 2007, Harper Lee lived in Monroeville, Alabama. As a young girl Harper Lee was the daughter of a lawyer and childhood friend of Truman Capote who would get picked on. Also her mother was never really there for Harper Lee due to a mental
