In Tom Hanks' article "I Owe It All to Community College," Hanks states he is in agreement with President Obama's proposal for a free community college schooling to those who are eligible. Even though the price tag is extremely high, Hanks hopes that Congress will approve the plan. Deserving individuals should be allowed to attend a community college for free in order to give them the chance of an education without the bigger burden of money. One reason that Hanks hopes the plan will go through is that high school graduates can attend a community college if they don't possess the money to attend a university. Free community college education for underprivileged high school graduates would allow them to achieve a college education and possibly a job. Helping high school graduates are just one of many ways that this plan will be successful. Next, this plan can help unmarried parents and workers who need fewer obstacles in their lives. Hanks says, "workers who have been out of the job market, need lower obstacles between now and the following chapter of their lives." (2) These workers and sole parents need the education to gain a more tremendous job and support their families.
