Villainy can be many different things, it can be a person, it can be a place, or it can be a thing. In Edgar Allen Poe’s short story The Tell Tale Heart, the villain of the story is not the narrator but rather the narrator’s own mind. The narrator tries very hard to convince the reader that he is not insane but rather, extremely smart. In the story, the narrator kills the old man and to try and prove he is not insane, shares with us how he committed this murder and how he covered his tracks.
