Waiting For Superman
“Its less money to educate students , but cost more to send someone to prison” (waiting for superman). Davis investigates the public school system in the united states, and uncovers the many ways in which education in America has declined , “Waiting For Superman”and the director is Davis Guggenheim this documentary was released in 2010. An issue that i learned about this documentary is that only 40% of Roosevelt High school don’t graduate. Going to school like Roosevelt makes me feel that if i went there i had a high percentage that i would probably not graduate and that makes me scared going to a school like roosevelt high school. “Only three out of one hundred students at Roosevelt will graduate with the classes necessary for admission to a four year university, and 57% of Daisy’s classmates won’t graduate”- The narrator. What i'm trying to say is that they use more money to send someone to prison but then the cost for a student it’s less money. “The average prison sentence of four years costs one hundred thirty-two thousand. Now, multiply the nine thousand a year spent on a student by 13 years in education and we’ve spent one hundred seventeen thousand”- Waiting For Superman. This shows that they spend about one hundred thirty-two thousand for a prisoner when they could put more money for each students education. In conclusion its sad how they care more about a prisoner rather than caring for a students
