One of the lyrics is “How cruel is the golden rule?”. This line is utterly true. Though people may tell us people will treat us how we treat them, this does not always
"What is the value of life?” When you are asked this question most people will start to think about their accomplishments, their families, what they have done, and sometimes people simply do not know how to answer this question. In the article “What is Life Worth?” by Amanda Ripley, it talks more about putting a value of money on a life.
In sight of the cold war, in 1961 the highest point of the cold war is when the episode known as “The Shelter” in the series called The Twilight Zone was created. The episode covered the possibilities of many particular situations that may have occurred in a desperate time like this if a missile was launched at the United States. At the beginning of the episode, Rod Serling himself tells us “what you are about to watch is a nightmare.” We get a very ominous sense of what is coming due to the eerie music that had been playing in the background, and we soon find out that this episode is just that. A nightmare, in the sense of the event that is occurring but also the constant battle of a nightmare between thoughts that may drive one crazy as well as those thoughts mixed with the people you knew as “friends.”
What is That 70’s Show? Erik Adams explains it to be, “... a sitcom set in malaise years whose true purpose was never lampooning disco cheese or outdated technology—though it did that, too. That ’ '70s Show is about the smaller stuff, the truly memorable moments of adolescence unseen in the history books” (Adams). What Adams means by this is that this show, while set in a very distinct time period, put a larger emphasis on what the adolescent characters were going through and how they lived in the '70s instead of focusing on the wars, changes in presidency, and overall strife that are the main ideas historical textbooks let us see.
When asked what some of the most popular sitcoms have been one might answer: Friends, Seinfeld, How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM), or The Big Bang Theory, but the ones with the most resemblances are Friends and HIMYM. Friends is a show that took place from 1994 through 2004 about Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Joey, and Phoebe navigating their lives together by having friendships and romances while spending much of their time at Central Perk and Monica's apartment. How I Met Your Mother aired from 2005 through 2014 and tells the story of how Ted came to meet his wife with his friend group: Marshall, Lily, Barney, Robin, and Tracy. The mother of his children, Tracy, is not a character on the show until the last season as it is the story of how
Everyone in the world in the world seems to know who the Kardashians are, wherever you look they seem to appear, on billboards, magazines, in salons, on the internet, pictures of them are plastered everywhere. The Kardashian family is popular culture. In this essay I will be discussing consumerism, the role of technology in consumer culture and materialism in accordance to the show Keeping Up With The Kardashians and the Kardashian family, and explaining it through conflict theory. Conflict theory dictates ideas coined by Karl Marx (1818-1833) who has divided the social groups into two classes, the bougeousie and the proliteriate. He states that because of the inequality in the power balance and the bourgeousie having a capitalist hold over the proletariates, they abuse their power over the proletariates.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding is a Hollywood-style romantic comedy, about Toula Portokalos a 30-year-old single woman in Chicago, A Greek descendant, being raised in a highly traditional family. In conformity with her family’s standard, women that are not married and popping out babies, work in the family restaurant, and are seen as disappointments.
Going to the universities’ library earlier this month to rent three films, - 500 days of Summer, Annie Hall and High Fidelity- was the first step to my critical writing and analysing process. I spent some time at home, to watch these three completely different movies. Although there is one theme that captures the common motif in these three movies, the theme Romance. The standard model suggests that a film wherein the plot revolves around the love feelings and love between two protagonists can be defined as a romance film. It is a well-known fact that love makes people do strange things, Shakespeare himself even said: “Love makes blind”.
The reader can acknowledge how Singer believes that the primary source of living a meaningful life, is love. Within his novel, the Pursuit of Love, Irving Singer discusses how love is the central definition of what meaning is, as well as further analyzes how love is not a desire to be loved. Nonetheless, Irving Singer would claim that life is not meaningless because humans search for meaning within all aspects of our existence. By solely being alive, individuals find the things that matter to them; therefore, whatever we as individuals believe “matters,” is a prerequisite for our life because it will bring happiness. Irving Singer’s optimistic theories make him an ideal philosopher because he offers an immense amount of insight by discussing how we can add meaning to our lives.

Everybody has different musical taste and reasons of why they like it and even though, all songs are very different from each other, what they all have in common is that they make people feel something. The reason for this is the significance we give to the lyrics or the memories they hold for us. Occasionally, songs tend to have a much deeper meaning than it might seem and this song is not the exception. The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra is my favorite song because of its theme, the lyrics, and what it means to me.
