College athletes staying pure to the game College athletes should not be paid to play, they should not be paid to play because it is something that they have to work for and in a way it would replace scholarships. College athletes already receive scholarships and they are meant to help them with their schooling and education, not to play sports. College athletes are also students and most of them will already receive scholarship from the college. The scholarship alone should be plenty of enough money for a student, to be paid more on top of that would just be ridiculous and unreasonable. For many young athlete, going to college to play the game you love is a once and a lifetime opportunity and privilege. The purpose of a scholarship is a financial aid and to better the students education, not to play sports. Playing sports is not the main purpose of a scholarship and it shouldn't be made that way by paying them them to play. These young adults are working and striving to become the best so that they can play professionally to play the game they love, and make the big bucks. College sports are so intense and genuine because of the fact they aren't getting paid, if they were to be getting paid large amounts of money they would be content and the game would just not be the same. These students are being taught how to be responsible in college, how to work hard for what you want in life, to not take the easy road. College is a time for these young adults to understand that things are not given in life, if you want something you have to go and get it because no one else is going to do it for you. If these players were paid, what would there be to work for, they would already have the money they need to stop working so
