Home and Family After their wedding, Robert and Bessie Brown moved into a two-story frame house near the school in Bradley, South Dakota. This would be their home for the rest of their married lives and from this home, they experienced the joys and challenges of raising their four children, Mary, born in 1925, Robert Elmer, in 1926, Eldred, nicknamed Teck, in 1929, and Verna, also called Vern, in 1931. When Bessie gave birth to the youngest, the physician, Dr. McIntyre, held her up for the mother to view and proclaimed, “Here she is. While doing this he helped the lives of many people and animals. Overall looking back on the situation this was all for the best and as long as all of this had a good end that's all that matters it doesn't matter if Cinderella had rude stepsisters and a horrible stepmother because in the end she got her prince and that was all that mattered to her. Now there are many different versions of this song but I would choose the version that came about after the abolitionist John Brown was executed in 1859. With a fiercer set of lyrics; the song now declared that "John Brown’s body lies a-mouldering in the grave. His soul is marching on!" By the time the Civil War began in 1861, the John Brown version of the song had spread throughout the Union army and they sang it while the marched during the Civil War.
