Now onto the short story. However, in the script “Flowers for Algernon” by David Rogers, everyone that knows about the experiment is astonished by how fast he is getting his work done and the amount that he is doing is well ahead of any other human. This goes to show that the experiment worked a little too much. Then they decided to change it up a little in the movie “Charlie” directed by Ralph Nelson, he is tricked by the scientist because they new the experiment wouldn’t be permanent yet, they still decided to keep it quiet and away from Charlie and everyone else until Charlie’s intelligence leads him to the conclusion by himself which he then publicly announces in front of a big group on a stage. It is also about showing Charlie’s own feelings as represented in the text when he states “I’m in love with Miss Kinnian.”(page 366 paragraph 120) That shows how Charlie is expressing his feelings about Miss Kinnian along how his intelligence has advanced into where he realizes these feelings because before the operation he didn’t understand the feeling of love along with know what it was. This P.O.V is also used to show Charlie’s character along with a better understanding. That said you see that Charlie is a humble truthful man with low intelligence in the beginning but, he is also very determined and has a lot of perseverance. This also shows a little bit of Miss Kinnian’s personality by expressing how much she cares about him. It also shows you that his “friends” are not his friends and they are just using him but charly still thinks they are his friends because they hang out with him. However, after the experiment he begins to lose all of his so called “friends” because his increase in intelligence makes him seem like a monster in their eyes.
