“A&P” The article has a theme that can be significant to the reader regarding the characters actions and way of living. The theme explains how money can make two individuals think differently. The characters in the story were raised differently and did not have the same thinking process. A person being poor may not act or do the same deed as someone rich. In this article the reader should learn that a person’s character could be based off of a person’s everyday living. Queenie was a character that seem to feel that she was perfect. In the store it describes the way she walks. She walked heel first putting all the weight on her toes. She seem to feel as if it was not an issue dressing the way she dressed. A person’s character and how a person thinks is determined by that person’s environment. Which means Queenie was raised in a rich environment. In this article Queenie came off as a brat because it describes how she knew Sammy was staring at her, but never made eye contact because she felt as though she was too perfect. Most people that are raised in a rich environment are spoiled and act a certain type of ways towards others because of their mindset. Sammy was another character that was described in the story. Sammy was a character that was understood to be poor and still growing. In this article it describes to the reader how Sammy parent were not the richest people.
