Mowgli did not know that the monkeys had no law or that they did not follow the Law of the Jungle. He started talking to them and then Baloo told him to come down from the tree. The moment the big man saw Rikki-Tikki-Tavi and the snake, he got his gun and killed Nag.. The next day, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi went to the melon bed, where Nag and Nagaina's eggs were. He smashed all of them besides one which he kept in his mouth and went to Nagaina. When he had gotten to where Nagaina was she was threatening Rikki-Tikki-Tavi by keeping Tommy and his parents close enough where she could strike. Kipling, Pg. 128-132 Rikki-Tikki-Tavi told her she had one egg left and she moved and went towards him. Nagaina got her egg and ran to her hole, which is where she lived, and Rikki-Tikki-Tavi followed her. No animal has ever made it out alive when they went into a snake's den. Only one animal would come out, and that animal was Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. He had killed all the snakes of the garden. The garden was happy again. Birds and frogs were singing and everything was happy.
