If you treat others the way you would like to be treated, this can lead to a good relationship. I chose a picture of a “Lonely Little Duck” being pushed away from the other ones. This compares with Margot in the short story “All Summer in a Day,” who gets pushed away from everyone. Treat others the way you would like to be treated. Margot and the yellow duck both got pushed away from a group. If the group were in Margot or the yellow duck's shoes, they would feel sad too. The first example that is shown in the text is when the children pushed Margot into a closet. The kids who pushed Margot in the closet wouldn't want that to happen to them. The second example is shown when the text states that, “Ready, children? She glanced at her watch. "Yes!" said everyone. Are we all here? Yes!" The kids lied about having everyone in the classroom. They left Margot in the closet where they locked her in. This relates to the theme because none of the kids would want to be forgotten about. The text states that “Their faces were solemn and pale. They looked at their hands and feet, their faces down.” The children felt bad for what they had done. This shows to treat others the way you would like to be treated because they feel bad.
