Title: Discrimination against Disabled Writer: Tiffany Carlson Text Type: Article This year I have done my assessments mainly on discrimination. I have read many articles, books and watched movies on different types of discrimination, some of them are racism, discrimination against disabled, sexism, genoism, etc. From all these, the discrimination which requires a lot of attention in today’s society is the discrimination against disabled. People having disabilities are treated less favourably than a person without a disability in the same or similar circumstances. Recently I read an article called ‘Discrimination against Disabled’. It was an article written by Tiffany Carlson. This article describes the instances faced by people with disability in their daily life. In this article, the writer describes the problems faced by people with disability in today’s society. Writer says that most common instances are the lack of wheelchair ramps in public, people taking the parking spots reserved for people with disability, strangers ignoring their issues and wheelchairs quotas. …show more content…
I personally have witnessed these kinds of actions, strangers ignoring their need of help and instead of helping them, they treat them badly, these kinds of actions made me feel very bad for them. In public places I usually see a group of people standing in a corner, and when someone with disability passes by them, those same group of people starts to make fun of people with disabilities, I have seen this happen this many of times. I feel that people are not taking the initiative to support and the disabled, instead of helping them they discriminate them due to something which they cannot
